Game Designer & Unity Developer
Warsaw, Poland
Hello everybody. My name is Kadir Cem. I am a passionate Game Designer. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Digital Game Design from Beykoz University, Turkey in 2024. Then I completed my Master's Program in the New Media and Public Relations field at VIZJA University, Poland. I can create any kind of special game mechanics, narratives, and experiences.
I worked at several places in the game industry. My journey started with freelance jobs, then as a Game Tester at Digi-Startup, Turkey. I learned how to fill out game test documents and how to test games properly. The journey continued with Lifeguarding at Noah's Ark Waterpark in the United States. It taught me how to communicate with international people and boosted my teamwork experience. Returning to Turkey, I started a Game Design Internship at one of the unique board game companies, ROOT. I created board games, card games, games for impact, and digital deck-builders during that period.
After a wonderful time at ROOT, I decided to live in Warsaw and study a new, challenging New Media Master's. My two years in the Master's program taught me how to do academic research and write it, and I also took many media classes during this time. I can now obtain different perspectives and observe things differently. During my third semester, I had the chance to work at Actually Playable with lovely international people. I can say I mastered my documentation, communication, and design skills with these different experiences. I am always ready for the next challenges.

Creator, Host and Researcher
A Turkish podcast series exploring game design theories, indie game literature, and practical game marketing.
"Oyun Tasarım Günlüğü" acts as my personal and academic game design journal. The series aims to enrich the Turkish game development literature by bridging academic studies with industry realities. The podcast explores a wide range of topics; from the foundational play theories of Huizinga and Caillois, to the evolving academic definitions of "indie" games, and practical, low-budget marketing and PR strategies for independent developers.
B2B Game Designer
A B2B event-based team game designed for TKE elevator company to promote cross-functional collaboration.
Designed during my time at Root, this project features interactive mini-games. It gamifies the core company theme of elevator movement, requiring players to physically jump (to go up floors) and crouch (to go down floors) while solving puzzles. The game emphasizes strategic timing, effective communication, and working across different roles to achieve a unified goal: selling EOX.
Researcher
During my studies, I wrote various articles focused on video games, both as part of my academic assignments and based on my personal interest. These articles explore a wide range of topics, from the influence of the media to game mechanics, and from portrayals of violence to commercial impacts.
